Jerilu and Judith joined us at Suzanne and Murray's for dinner with Felicia and Erin.

My favorite weekend!  Mark, Glori, Ryan, Myla, and Zoe came Friday night to give me a birthday hug.  Saturday we took our usual beach trek at Manchester beach for a watermelon picnic.  Then home to bake: pecan pie, rhubarb pie and birthday cupcakes with ice cream.
Sunday Don and I went to Suzi' and Murray's for bbq salmon, beef, noodles, and chocolate decadence cake with strawberry and apricot toppings.  Judith and Jerilu and Felicia and Erin came for the celebration.

Working on pieces for the Sept. show and Mike, our tree climber guy, working on the dead pine tree in the front yard by the driveway.  The tree is over 70' tall, 11'diameter and has limbs that are over 2' in diameter .  You can't tell by the pics how big of a job it is!!  This is the first tree work that Mike has done in a year due to a tree falling on him.  He didn't fall but a rotten tree fell on him causing serious injury.    His passion is gardening and he gave us some squash and cucmber starts.  Nice man.

Don's letter to the editor:

Recently a couple of state senators were censured by the democratic party for bribery. How can this be?  I was under the impression that the Supreme Corp (sic) jesters had legalized bribery by reaffirming that corporations are people and that money is free speech.  If so, isn't the contractor with a fist full of dollars merely giving the senator his opinion?
If we're going back to calling this bribery and corporations are people, let's arrest a few.

I know that Don's not smiling, but can you see the twinkle in his eyes?
