Dinner with Mark, Glori, Ry, Felicia, and Andrew

It was so good to be with you guys and be with Ry for a whole week!

Picasso ceramics at Turtle Bay

Not my style, but what an artist.

Lucky grandma

I had a wonderful time last week seeing Brandon and hanging out with Ryan during spring break. Jay met us for lunch at the Sundial bridge by Turtle Bay and took this shot of me with my grandsons.

Greenware

Throwing is going well for me, although I just ruined a lid this morning! I have a kiln load of smaller bisqued pieces waiting patiently in the garage for their coat of glaze. Today I'll get out the scale and start weighing chemicals for new glaze recipes, hoping to find the 'perfect' ones.

Nowhere to hide

In an ICO editorial by Stephen McLaughlin, he questions whether the USA Patriot Act brought down Eliot Spitzer. "Whether it was that law or the Bank Secrecy Act, it's clear that surveillance isn't just for terrorists any more."....." The details of our personal lives are revealed in everyday transactions with debit and credit cards. ...Though some think the Bank Secrecy Act is triggered only by transactions of over $10,000, in fact, millions of smaller transactions are analyzed to watch for patterns of our spending which might be deemed suspicious. What's suspicious? Hard to know.
Eliot Spitzer was not immune to this ubiquitous surveillance. He was trapped in the net that envelops us all."

Bridal Shower

Last weekend I threw Alexis her Bridal shower, with the help of my Mom, Aunt Deb and Nonna of course. It was very nice and went really well. I had it at the Pietro's in Lodi; Uncle Jim made lots good food and my mom made the best cookies ever. It is hard to believe that the wedding is only a month away. It was like yesterday when I was wondering if I would even be in it. I am really nervous about making the speech at dinner because 300 people are expected to be at the wedding! Alexis had a good time, a lot of people came and it was a success!

Arty and Crafty weekend

SF city hall building, near the Herbst Theatre where Don and I heard SF chamber musicians, is impressive at night. Lucky for me (not for Don) the Contemporary Crafts market was within walking distance from our motel and I took lots of pottery notes.

Graduation Details

For those of you thinking of coming to Murray's graduation from Empire College of Law on Sunday, June 8, the ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. Everyone needs a ticket to attend, but he'll receive an unlimited amount of tickets, so just let us know if you'd like one. Or more than one. We'll also have a little party immediately following (3:00 p.m. probably, but we'll confirm that) back at our pad. If you'd rather come to just the party, that's OK too.
