Lovely flowers this year

I'm enjoying the garden so much. We had a sprinkling of rain this morning and more expected this weekend. Yippee!

Gorgeous! My peonies are also beautiful. I have a hard time deciding whether to leave them outside, or cut them and bring them in. I do both, of course, but I always want to bring them in when I'm inside and leave them when I'm outside, if you know what I mean.

Yes, I do. I just planted some red ones this year, but it will take several years for them to bloom. This year is the best the white ones have ever looked. I'm surprised they are doing so well because I think they like snow in the winter.

Your flowers are beautiful. This IS THE time of year for the garden. Or is it a better year than most?

It seemslike a better year than most for mine. It's been nice and cool so things are blooming slower and longer.

That is what the NY Parks commissioner said when asked about the cool spring, its very good for the flowers.

I've been wondering about that, too, because I never saw such a wonderful year for poison ivy. It's everywhere, and the leaves are broad!

I think it is both for us...the best time for the garden and an unusually good year. I have so much stuff wanting to take over...morning glory vine, raspberries would like to grow everywhere, huge bushes of poppies. It is good that the potatoes have recovered from verticulum wilt or whatever they had. I even have tomatoes setting on fruit in the greenhouse which usually doesn't happen until August. The cucumbers and basil love the greenhouse.

I hope you've been giving them lots of praise, AB!
