Free dirt and Mt. View fire update

Don has gotten about 8 dump truck loads of dirt from the county. He spends many hours spreading it around which will add space to park his truck and someday build a shed to store lawn mowers, etc. and my glaze chemicals.
Today the smoke is very bad. I was spading a garden spot and my lungs were hurting. The fire is not getting closer, but today is very still with no wind, getting ready for the storm Saturday and Sunday. We are hoping that the dry electrical storm predicted does not start more fires.

same place same time but on wednesday, both are facing East.
this is from my house last night at 6pm, towards the west.
at this time there is over 700 fires in cali, 73 just in shasta county. Most of the fires can't be fight because theres not enough resources.

This is not a photo of a fire anywhere near the Left Coast Clan, let me make that clear. It was in South San Francisco, and pretty scary, even from far away.

Mom writes: "Yes, we are fine, but there is a fire on Mountain View Rd. about a mile from Doolings. The sheriff stopped by to give a warning that we should 'prepare' to evacuate, not evacuate yet. When we went up to Dan and Vicki's Sat. we saw the fire which wasn't very big, but fire fighters and equipment are spread so thin that the fire kept growing. Fortunately, and I knock on wood as I type this, there is very little wind. We don't have smoke either. At this point we are not worried, but I understand that they opened the PA high school gym for us. But everyone on our road that I talked to plans to stay put."

Neighbors, Mary and Tom, took Don and I to breakfast at Harbor Inn in Elk. The view was beautiful and food delicious. Thanks for the plates, Suzi! Jan, Suzi noticed that a desert rose cookie jar was over $300!
