Apples, apples, and more apples

These apples are still on the tree after making applesauce, apple juice, and giving away many bags of apples.

Don is turning the apple press. Our juice is excellent. Don rebuilt this old apple press which had been left out in an orchard. Every piece of wood had rotted; he made new staves, supports, and bottom.

I just thought this was very cool. Makes me want to rent HBO's "Rome" again.

We know who we are

Ryan broke his foot in Friday while he was trying to kick a metal post out of the ground. Its a hairline fracture of the second-smallest toe. We were concerned about about damage to the growth plate, but it appears to be fine. Ryan's reaction to the x-ray results - "Cool, now I really have something good for Show-n-tell on Monday."

My first and last show.

My pottery show at the Dolphin in Gualala was very successful. Of the 48 pieces displayed about a third sold, purchased mostly by friends. The exhibit will be up until the 20th. A big hit was the fish cakes I made from Don's blue and black rock fish that he speared 2 days before the dreaded colon havoc.
