Free dirt and Mt. View fire update

Don has gotten about 8 dump truck loads of dirt from the county. He spends many hours spreading it around which will add space to park his truck and someday build a shed to store lawn mowers, etc. and my glaze chemicals.
Today the smoke is very bad. I was spading a garden spot and my lungs were hurting. The fire is not getting closer, but today is very still with no wind, getting ready for the storm Saturday and Sunday. We are hoping that the dry electrical storm predicted does not start more fires.

Good luck with your storms.

The smoke is very bad in Santa Rosa, too. Mur was thinking of visiting you this weekend to get away from it, but I'll let him know the smoke is bad there, too!

So done with the smoke! Why did the county have to get rid of 8 truck loads of dirt?

The Jalepeno Hotline blog stated today: "Today, there are still 1,088 fires burning in California." It has a link to an interesting web page about the fires.

Also known as the jalapeno hotline

I think that the dirt comes from cleaning ditches, etc. beside the roads. Don asked for good dirt after the loads of rocky weeds and they gave him two load of descent dirt, but I don't know where they got it. Mostly it's dirt they don't want.
